Dear Parents,

Here are some kindergarten readings and activities for at home use. I selected things that are as closely connected to what we are doing in class as I could get. I will continue to search for appropriate resources. 

 

Grade K 

5-18-20

1. Talk with your child about what they know about the four seasons.

2. Read The Four Seasons article.

3. Talk about what the four seasons.

   -What is the weather like in each of the four seasons?

   -What clothes do we wear in each of the four seasons?

   -What holidays are in each of the four seasons?

4. Talk about what season we are in now and which season is next.

1. Talk with your child about what they have learned about the sun so far.

     -remember what the sun is

     -remember what the sun does

2. Read From Morning to Night article.

3. Talk about last week's observations.

    -What were changes?

     -What stayed the same?

     -Where did you see the sun from your house the sun when it came up?

     -Where did you see the sun from your house when it went down?

4. Continue to observe the sun's position in the sky.

5. Continue to make a chart of where the sun is in the sky at different times of the day.

1. Ask your child what they already know about the sun.

2. Read A Big Star article.

3. Discuss the questions that follow the article.

4. Make a chart like Walt's class to keep track of the weather (temperature, precipitation, clouds, wind) for a week; discuss what is observed.
